Adam Brufsky, MD, PhD, of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, will give an overview of the topic of bone health for women after breast cancer diagnosis, including:

- How to measure bone health
- How breast cancer treatment impacts bone loss
- Strategies for monitoring bone health before and after treatment
- Using exercise, fitness and supplements to keep bones strong
- Bone-strengthening medications
About The Speaker
Dr. Brufsky is an associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and co-director of the Magee-Womens Breast Cancer Program of UPMC Cancer Centers. He is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research.
Dr. Brufsky is the principal investigator of the Pittsburgh Breast Cancer Consortium, a U.S. Department of Defense-funded program to increase community access to innovative clinical trials for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer, as well as a number of other breast cancer studies. He has published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, Journal of Clinical Oncology and Lancet. Dr. Brufsky is principal investigator on a number of research grants funded by the National Institutes of Health, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the U.S. Army Breast Cancer Research Program.
